On Thursday 2 June 2016 a workshop was organized by ENOVEO in Ecole Centrale de Lyon within the frame of the LOVE TO HATE project.  The aim of the workshop was to present an update of the results of the LOVE TO HATE project and its interest to policy makers and industry. There were six presentations given by i) Dr Dimitrios Karpouzas, coordinator of the project , on the use of functional metagenomics for the isolation of novel pesticide biocatalysts from soil, ii) Dr Fabrice Martin-Laurent who gave us an update on the current status of standardization of methods in soil microbiology and how this fits to the pesticide risk assessment procedure in EU, iii) Dr George Tsiamis who presented the pipeline for the development of a functional microarray called PestiChip for the detection of pesticide detoxification genes in soils and Mr Elias Assimakis who presented the first results of the evaluation of the first version of the PestiChip, iv) Cedric Malandain who gave an overview of the activities of ENOVEO and some case studies that have undertaken through their services, v)  Prof. Tim Vogel presented results from a dechlorinating microbial network and the ways to unravel the interacting microorganisms within the consortium.
